I'm having a little trouble in getting my Intel D915GAG motherboard to recognize KVR400X643CAk2/1G RAM in any combination? The BIOS is up to date. The moment I install the RAM, and power the system, the monitor does not respond. It is an old e-machine t5026 which came with PC3200 Samsung 512 mb ram, which works fine in any combination. Any advice on how to get the motherboard to recognize the Kingston PC3200 ram?
To be fully compliant with all applicable DDR SDRAM memory specifications, the board should have DIMMs that support the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) data structure. This allows the BIOS to read the SPD data and program the chipset to accurately configure memory settings for optimum performance. If non-SPD memory is installed, the BIOS tries to correctly configure the memory settings, but performance and reliability can be impacted or the DIMMs might not function under the designated frequency.
Also make sure you are not using generic memory this may cause instability and crash the system, try new memory module.
Great experience. Jack (techs) was helpful and answered all my questions. The product was suppose to be here on Wednesday and arrived on Monday. I would recommend Lion& Lion and use again if I ever need to place a bulk or simple orders in Lion & Lion.
