Is DIM better than SDRAM for my Dell computer? It only has 32mg of SDRAM in it. It has 3 sockets. I can only afford 256mg of just one of these kinds of memory. Of course, I think adding 256mg of SDRAM into one socket would 288mg of memory wouldn't. From what I read, DIMM is a higher quality than SDRAM. Does the increased quality make it any faster?
Well you are confused here. DIMM are nothing but memory used on desktop computers and servers, and SDRAM is the technology. SODIMM are used on laptops netbooks etc.
So its called as SDRAM DIMMs...
You dell computer uses SDRAM DIMMs, and has 3 dimm slots, each capable of taking max of upto 256MB.
Infact SDRAM is a very old technology in memory and now its DDR3. You can search for 256MB PC100 MHz Speed 168pins SDRAM DIMM
